"Children do not need to learn to be better, told what to do or shown how. If they are given access to enough of the world, they will see clearly enough what things are truly important to themselves and to others, and they will make for themselves a better path into that world than anyone else could make for them."                     January 2, 2014

I don't know if I was still recovering from the first or what but this morning found me to be very LAZY.  Even though I was out of the bed by 7 I was on the computer for several hours checking emails, facebooking, adding my Homeschool Linky Party, etc., etc. Dad spent this time watching hanging out with me and watching some tv. He watched "Batman Begins" and Dora got up and watched it with him around 10:00.

She quickly became bored and started doing some crafts with construction paper. She made a butterfly and also this crown:

The coolest thing about this crown is that it was too big so quickly became a blindfold. Therefore ensuing a game of "Watch me, I can do this without looking  and I can walk down the hall without running in to anything!" followed me and her playing  "Hide and Clap" for a long time! After the game and still wearing the crown it made her begin to wonder "Does the UK have a queen?" "Are they free" "Well, what about China?" "Can they worship God if they want to?" Which lead a discussion on different types of governments and what each one did. Followed by me telling her to look it up because some of the questions honestly I did not have a clue about! She also shared the laws she lives by with me, "Dora's Laws" but more about that another time.

But no, "Little Miss Can't Hold Still" had moved on and decided she wanted to play personal trainer. (She knows that I have a resolution to lose a little weight.) I was not interested but Dad took the opportunity to challenge her training skills by seeing how many push ups she could do and in return she gave him gymnastics challenges as well, ones  that she was sure he could not accomplish.

It was about this time, 1:00 or so,  that Bret got up and announced he had lost the ball off of one of his lip piercings last night and he thought it was growing up already. I was afraid for him to try to repuncture it himself so he, Dora, and Dad went and had it checked out at the piercing place. However, they didn't want to mess with it until the swelling went down and then will have to repierce it for $20 again, the joys of having teenagers!

Since it was only in the 20's and very cold the puppies had alot of vent up energy! So we spent the better part of an hour playing fetch and trying to teach them to catch a bouncing ball. Honestly, I would be happy if I could teach them to go pee outside but we had fun.

Bubba wasn't feeling very well and didn't get up until 2:30 but after that and lunch we all played a game of Monopoly. Usually Thursdays are Family Game Nights but we got our game on early,  Bret and Dora just finished up with Dora being the winnder as I am writing this.

All the kids are in their room now and playing Minecraft on their Ipods. I am going to fix some spaghetti for dinner, so until tomorrow!

Who knows maybe tomorrow I will be able to show you a little of what our evenings look like!
