"Children do not need to learn to be better, told what to do or shown how. If they are given access to enough of the world, they will see clearly enough what things are truly important to themselves and to others, and they will make for themselves a better path into that world than anyone else could make for them." Ok, do you remember those boring days I warned you about? Well, today was rainy and dreary and I guess no one much felt motivated to do much.

Dora wrote her new penpal a letter this morning. And then for some crazy reason decided to start singing and rapping songs about the rain! Which lead to her playing me some music from the Disney channel.

She pretty much spent the rest of the day in front of the Disney channel or playing games like Little Big Planet on the playstation. Bubba and Bret joined her for the most part.  Bubba however did inform me that "Phineas and Ferb's Mom was not neglectful she just had a lot of hobbies outside the house and their hobbies were at home." I always comment on why she has to leave the boys everyday when I watch Phineas and Ferb. Bret also listened to music and he and Bubba traded Yugioh cards and played a few games. They also watched some videos on You Tube.  That was pretty much their day other than me getting them to help with a little laundry we were behind on.

Oh, I did talk with both the boys about careers. Bret is wanting to study FX or theatrical make up and I found this awesome mak up school, in Nashville that teaches just that and you have completed it in only 10 weeks!  Bubba discussed with me wanting a career in drawing and is leaning towards children's illustrator. We discussed some steps he might take to start working towards that like some online art classes and  putting together a portfolio of his work to share with children's authors.

I spent some extra time online, read and studied my Bible, and got caught up on a few chores and laundry.

This post was written as a part of a year long series "Hitchhikers Guide to Unschooling" where I basically let you in to see our lives and what we do each day. I promise you not every day is quite this boring!
