"Children do not need to learn to be better, told what to do or shown how. If they are given access to enough of the world, they will see clearly enough what things are truly important to themselves and to others, and they will make for themselves a better path into that world than anyone else could make for them."                Baking Soda Play Clay Recipe

Play Clay is a homemade modeling clay that will harden after drying and only requires 3 basic ingredients. You can use it to make clay jewelry, ornaments, or store in an air tight container in the fridge and play with it as an alternative to Play Doh!

You will need:

2 Cups of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda (one 16 oz. box)

1 Cup of Cornstarch

1 1/4 Cup of Cold Water

Food Coloring (optional)

1. Stir together the baking soda and cornstarch in a saucepan.

2. Add water (and food coloring?) and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the  mixture reaches the consistency of mashed potatoes. (approx. 10-15 minutes)

3. Remove mixture to a plate and cover with a damp cloth until cool to the touch.

Dora and her friend Lexi making pizza:

They wanted to save the dough to make more pizza later, but if you want to keep your creations just air dry overnight.
